FIFA has released the latest rankings for the month
of June and the rankings shows Nigeria has dropped down 14 places
despite winning its match against Chad.
The Super Eagles were formally ranked as the 43rd best national team in the world and 7th in Africa but have now dropped to 57th in the world and 10th in Africa.
This comes despite the victory against Chad. The countries ahead of Nigeria in Africa in ranking order are: Algeria (19th), Ivory Coast (21st), Ghana 25th), Tunisia (32), Senegal (39), Cameroon (42th), Congo (47th), Cape Verde Island (52nd), Egypt (55th).

The top ten in order are: Argentina, Germany, Belgium, Columbia, Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, Romania, England and Wales.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that it is in talks with former Super Eagles’ captain Sunday Oliseh with regards to the vacant position of the team’s head coach.

It would be recalled that the NFF at the weekend terminated the appointment of another former captain, Stephen Keshi, over breaches of core terms of his contract.

of Nations which will take place in Gabon. They won the tournament in
