A multi-car accident involving five vehicles happened at Orlu road, Ihiala area of Anambra state, on June 20, Saturday.
Confirming
the incident, Sunday Ajayi, the sector commander of federal road safety
commission, said that seven people were injured in the accident.
However, he added that the victims were successfully rescued and taken
to a hospital.
“I can confirm the unfortunate accident to you, it involved five vehicles including a trailer, but no life was lost and the seven people injured had been moved to nearby hospital,” he said.
According to an eyewitness, the accident happened because of a commercial bus driver who was driving against traffic towards Owerri road from Onitsha.
“This bus from Onitsha was driving against traffic and it collided with the jeep before all these other ones ran into them. The truck that hit the pavement was also trying to dodge them,” he added.
