According to ASP Celestina Kalu, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO,
she said based on the report that 6000 PVCs were stolen, detectives
arrested the security guards while the stolen PVCs have been recovered
and have since been handed over to INEC.
DELTA State Police Command has arrested four men- Aherebe Godday, Omajemite Justice, Oyubu Ejiro and Lucky Aputu, 46, who resides at Oji Aputu compound, Onyobulu Inland Market Road, Oghara, in Ethiope West Local Government Area, for interrogation.
The quartet was nabbed for stealing 7,365 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and registers.
Also, Ajiah Shakira Adewale, a male staff of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office in Oghara, was said to have reported the matter at the Police Station Oghara.
She reported that unknown gun men broke into INEC office in Oghara and made away with the cards and register.
Similarly, she said follow-up investigation by detectives has recovered one of the stolen INEC registers from Aputu.
