Gunmen Kidnap Adamawa Lawmaker

Lawmaker, Alhaji Adamu Usman representing Toungo Counstituency in the Adamawa House of Assembly has been abducted by unknown gunmen in the state capital, Yola.
The lawmaker was snatched at his home at Kofare Ward of Yola last night, NAN reports.
The Police have confirmed the incident, with Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa Police Command, Mr Othman Abubakar revealing that Usman was kidnapped at gunpoint.

He however assured the public that the police was currently investigating the matter.

Usman is one of only two lawmakers to win his re-election bid after defecting from the PDP to the APC in the polls.
This is the third political related kidnapping in the state in the past six months.
One Alhaji Sani Ribadu, the brother of Malam Nuhu Ribadu and Mr Wilson Gundiri, a brother to Engr Markus Gundiri being the SDP gubernatorial candidate in the just-concluded polls had suffered the same fate, but were later freed.
