The gale of defections rocking the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continued yesterday as prominent members of the
party in Plateau state moved en-masse to the All Progressives Congress
(APC).
Among those who defected were a
former governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Dariye; Ambassador Fidelis
Tapgun; former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, General Jeremiah
Useni: Senator Victor Lar; and the state deputy governor, Ambassador Ignatius
Longjan.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, a
former minister and former deputy governor of Plateau State, Pauline Tallen; Mr
Jimmy Cheto and Chief Jethro Akun have concluded plans to move to the APC
alongside the other PDP chieftains.
Meanwhile, a group of supporters of
the APC on the platform of Advocacy Campaign, in a press statement signed by
Comrade Saddiq Agamah Sumbelep, said Dariye’s group had resolved to defect
formally to the party tomorrow.
