The Nyesom Wike led Rivers State Government has dissolved the state Local Government Commission headed by Nnamdi Wokekoro
This comes after the Rivers state government announced the probe of several commissions yesterday over alleged financial misappropriation and employment racketeering.
Commissions such as the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission
(RSIEC), the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC) and the
Rivers State Local Government Service Commission (RSLGSC ) are all being
investigated with the RSLGSC being hit the hardest.
The sacking was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike on Media, Opunabo Inko-Tariah who noted that the action was executed under the directive of the Rivers state House of Assembly.
Rivers State House of Assembly had in their plenary directed the State Governor, Nyesom Wike to dissolve the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission with immediate effect.
