Suspected Boko Haram fighters have reportedly attacked Gur, a village in Biu local government area of Borno state on Thursday, May 14.
According to Daily Post, several others sustained gunshot wounds.

Ali Musa, a Gur local, said the attack left many of the inhabitants scattered in the bush, as they ran into the mountains for their safety.

added that he lost an uncle in the wake of the attack and that one of
his brothers injured was being taken to the hospital in Biu for medical
treatment, along with other locals hit by the terrorists’ bullets. There were reports that Boko Haram fighters were trying to penetrate Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

The city is located near the exit from the Sambisa forest, the notorious hideout of insurgents.
But later the information appeared that the fight was between the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army and the militants took place around Kayamula village.
Recently, a group of Nigerian officers wrote a letter to the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of sabotaging the war against insurgents.
The soldiers also stated that money budgeted to fight terrorists was actually spent arming the Boko Haram.
