A report on Maxnaija.com suggests that President Goodluck Jonathan is set to be appointed as a global crises envoy by the United Nations (UN).

The role is similar to that of former British prime minister, Tony Blair, who was appointed the Middle East envoy for the United Nations after leaving office.

A report on Scoopng.com indicates that Timipre Sylva, the ex-governor of Bayelsa state and head of the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration committee, will appear in court today.

Sylva has an ongoing corruption and money laundering case involving N19.2 billion.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had accused Sylva of using three companies to commit the money laundering offences between 2009 and 2012 when he was the governor of Bayelsa state.

MISSING OIL MONEY: NNPC Audit Report In Brief

According to an order by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has made public the full report on the investigation of the missing $20bn oil money.  
The president said that his government has nothing to hide on the matter. Jonathan also rejected accusations credited to the All Progressives Congress (APC) that his officials were engaged in last-minute looting. He reacted to the case via a statement by Reuben Abati, the special adviser on media and publicity.
The investigation titled “Auditor General for the Federation Investigative Forensic Audit into the Allegations of Unremitted Funds into the Federation Accounts by the NNPC”  had three main aims:

APC Issues A Statement On Buhari’s Ban Of AIT

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has just issued a statement that all accredited media are free to cover the president-elect’s activities.
The party said that all media that have accreditation, including the African Independent Television (AIT), can cover Muhammadu Buhari’s activities.

Justice Yunusa Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Lagos, capital of Lagos State, has ordered eleven Nigerian banks to freeze the accounts of a former female member of the House of Representatives, Doris Uboh-Ogunkoya. The court order arose from a lawsuit filed against Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya by Sterling Bank Plc, alleging that she and her company had defaulted on a substantial loan.

The court order arose from a lawsuit filed against Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya by Sterling Bank Plc, alleging that she and her company had defaulted on a substantial loan. Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya was a House of Reps member from 2007 to 2011. She also ran unsuccessfully as a senatorial candidate of the Labor Party in the March 28, 2015 elections.

A 25-year-old Michigan woman Kim Pappas was charged with homicide after giving birth to a son in a bathroom stall at work. Kim didn't tell anyone she was pregnant. On Thursday last week, she went into labour while at work, went to the bathroom, had her baby, a boy, cut the umbilical cord with cuticle scissors, sealed the baby in a plastic bag, returned to her desk and hid her baby in a drawer, officials said during a court appearance on Friday.

Mama Taraba Challenges Guber Polls

Barely hours after INEC Returning Officer for Taraba governorship election, Kyari Mohammed, declared Darius Ishaku of the PDP as the winner of the guber poll, reports just coming in inform that the candidate of the APC, Aisha Alhassan, has rejected the results of the poll.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Mrs Alhassan, popularly called ‘Mama Taraba’, while addressing a press conference in Jalingo shortly after the announcement of the results, described the entire elections process as “daylight robbery.”
The report stated that Mrs Alhassan opined that the APC would challenge the results in the elections petitions tribunal.
